SFT - Solution Focused Therapy in Newcastle

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) Newcastle

Smiling Female Black Lady With Glasses Private Therapy

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) is a goal-oriented approach where your therapist collaborates with you to find the best strategies that work for you based on your experience with similar difficulties in the past.

This structured approach allows you to work with your therapist to find solutions for reducing your problems within a framework that encourages you to feel clearer about your goals, and the steps needed to help you reach them.

By focusing on “what works” rather than just re-visiting problems, Solution Focused Therapy gives you a frame of reference for how change is possible, and how you are progressing, as a result of therapy.

SFT in Newcastle – How Does it Work?

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) helps you to feel more empowered to tackle the tough situations in your life with proven coping mechanisms and by focusing on drawing on your existing personal strengths to reach your desired goal, whether related to mental health or day to day effectiveness.

SFT helps you to identify and “do more of” the productive and helpful behaviours that have or are currently helping you in your situation.

By incorporating a focus on helpful and goal-focused behaviours, you will begin to see and experience effective change and movement towards helpful behaviour with the guidance of a trained therapist to help you to achieve your therapeutic goals.

Solution Focused Therapy is a brief form of therapy with specific goals and constant monitoring of progress between you and your therapist.  It has been proven effective for treating a number of problems such as depressionanxietyrelationship problems, and anger-related difficulties.

The number of sessions that might help will reflect your individual goals, and can be discussed between you and your therapist during your initial face-to-face or online consultation.
