About Beverley Sprot (Counsellor for Children and Adults)
Beverley Sprot is one of our experienced counsellors at Newcastle Psychologist & Counselling, providing support for adults, young people, and children who may be struggling with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
Beverley offers counselling for issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, trauma, stress, self-harm, relationship difficulties, exam pressure, and employment challenges.
She provides an integrative and person-centred approach, tailoring each session to meet the individual needs of her clients.
Drawing on a range of therapeutic models, including Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic approaches, Beverley helps people to better understand themselves, develop coping strategies, and move towards greater emotional wellbeing.
Counsellor for Adults & Children
With over 20 years’ experience supporting children in school as well as community settings, Beverley is experienced in working therapeutically with both adults and young people suffering from problems such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger (both adult and child anger) and trauma.
She has also spent four years working as an emotional support worker and counsellor, and a further two and a half years counselling adults in office-based environments.
Her extensive background in child and family support work has given her a deep understanding of the social, emotional, and developmental challenges that people face across different stages of life.
This experience allows Beverley to adapt her approach sensitively to suit each client, whether helping a child manage anxiety at school, supporting a teenager with self-harm, or guiding an adult through relationship or work-related stress.
Her integrative style means that she draws on a variety of techniques to meet her clients’ needs, helping them to explore the root of their difficulties and develop practical strategies to move forward.
Integrative & Compassionate Counselling
Beverley’s decision to become a counsellor was shaped by a genuine desire to help others lead the best lives they can. She is passionate about helping people build self-esteem, self-worth, and resilience, particularly during times of change, loss, or emotional distress.
Her warm and empathetic presence helps clients feel comfortable opening up, while her practical and insightful approach enables them to identify strengths and solutions that promote growth and confidence.
Beverley believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change and works collaboratively with each client to help them achieve a greater sense of clarity and wellbeing.
Personal Interests
Outside of her counselling work, Beverley is committed to supporting the local community. She volunteers as a group facilitator for people who have experienced abusive relationships, offering a safe and supportive space for recovery and empowerment.
She also works with a young people’s charity, delivering drop-in sessions and activity groups for 11–16-year-olds, helping them to connect socially and develop confidence in a positive and nurturing environment.
In her personal life, Beverley enjoys spending time outdoors and with family, finding balance and connection through meaningful relationships and community work.
