Counsellor & Couples Counsellor
About Graeme Armstrong (Couples Counsellor)
Having spent 21 years working as a general counsellor, Graeme effectively helped people experiencing a range of problems throughout his career. On top of his counselling experience, in 2006, Graeme specialised in becoming a couple’s therapist and expanded his reach into relationship therapy.
As a clinical supervisor and mindfulness practitioner, Graeme has led over 50 weekends in mindfulness training and has held and attended many of 4-5-day retreats over the years, passing his knowledge of therapeutic skills onto others.
Trained Couples Counsellor
Starting his journey into counselling in 2004, Graeme obtained a Relate Certificate in Marital and Couple Counselling Theory and Practice from the Relate Institute in Rugby.
Since then, he has studied for and achieved several other qualifications including completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Couple Therapy from the University of East London, a Supervisors Training Certificate from the Relate Institute in Doncaster, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Relationship Therapy (Systemic Therapy) from the University of Hull.
He has also completed training in Foundation Skills Training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with NHS Newcastle. Most recently in 2013, Graeme was awarded his Post Graduate Diploma in Mindfulness from the University of Aberdeen.
Graeme is registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and was drawn to a career in this sector by his fascination with the way humans work.
When he isn’t at the centre offering couples and relationship counselling services, Graeme is most commonly found walking in the hills or gardening.
