Experienced Counsellor in Morpeth
Kayleigh brings over 15 years of experience in education, where she supported children and young people with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those with autism and ADHD. Her experience spans mainstream and specialist schools, working with children, families, and professionals to promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
She has also completed an extensive range of specialist CPD and in-house training, including courses in safeguarding, trauma-informed care, grief and bereavement, autism and ADHD support, working with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), domestic abuse, and creative therapies.
In addition to her extensive work with young people, Kayleigh has also provided counselling for adults in the community and within residential nursing homes, helping clients of all ages to better understand themselves and their emotions.
Kayleigh’s own lived experience of ADHD and autism gives her an authentic insight into the challenges many of her clients face. This personal understanding allows her to connect deeply with those who may feel misunderstood or overwhelmed, fostering trust and empathy throughout the therapeutic process.
Personal Journey to Counselling
Kayleigh’s decision to become a counsellor was shaped by her initial work offering wellbeing and emotional support to those facing complex trauma, behavioural difficulties, and life challenges.
Her experience with helping others inspired her to train as a counsellor and offer the same kind of healing and growth to others, helping them move beyond self-criticism, fear, or survival mode, and towards a more authentic, confident, and fulfilling life.
At the heart of her practice is a genuine passion for helping people heal, grow, and reclaim their sense of self-worth.
Combined with her skills as a counsellor, Kayleigh’s experience in working with others has helped her understand how the right support can help clients overcome their difficulties.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of her counselling work, Kayleigh is training her golden retriever to become a therapy dog, combining her love of animals with her commitment to emotional wellbeing.
She enjoys being outdoors, spending time in nature, and travelling, reflecting her adventurous spirit and curiosity about people and cultures.
Originally from Australia half French, Kayleigh has a love of exploring the world and connecting with people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
