About Jane Miller (Counsellor)
Jane Miller is one of our counsellors at Newcastle Psychologist & Counselling, who works with adults, children and young people to provide counselling & therapy for a varied range of issues.
Using a variety of counselling approaches, including person centred therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Jane helps adults and children deal with issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, low self-esteem, and loss, bereavement & grief.
Jane also provides specialist counselling for adults, children and young people who may be experiencing relationship issues, neurodiversity, or LGBTQ+ related problems, as well as specialist counselling for victims of abuse (domestic, emotional & sexual).
Accredited Counsellor for Adults, Children and Young People
Following a successful previous career as an office manager, Jane began her counselling vocation by initially volunteering as a Samaritan.
After working in various roles within the organisation, she returned to higher education and gained a Foundation Degree in Counselling (with distinction) from Teesside University.
As a counsellor for adults, children and young people, Jane approaches her clients’ needs from an integrative perspective – providing a combination of counselling approaches that are best suited to the goals and issues of the individual.
Person-Centred Counselling and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Jane’s professional approach to counselling is primarily Person-Centred, but also includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic (Attachment) Psychotherapy Theory.
As an accredited member of The National Counselling Society, Jane is registered as both an Adult & Children and Young People counsellor.
She has an enhanced DBS certificate for working with children and young people, and has completed a number of additional qualifications and advanced training, including a Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People, a Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre Training Programme.
Jane has also completed programmes centring on working with suicidal ideation and self-harm, and LGBTQ+ awareness and inclusion.

Jane offers face-to-face appointments at the main clinic in Gosforth (Newcastle Psychologist & Counselling at the Regent Centre).
