About Dr Annelise Rodger (Adult & Child Psychologist)
Dr Annelise Rodger is a counselling psychologist. She is an integrative practitioner, drawing on therapeutic models that include cognitive-behavioural therapies (including trauma-informed CBT); psychodynamic therapy; eco-psychology, compassion-focused and solution-focused approaches; acceptance and commitment therapy; play-based therapies.
Dr Annelise works with children / young people and adults and is able to work with a range of mental health difficulties that include but are not limited to the following:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Stress and burnout
- Sleep issues
- Grief and bereavement
- Attachment related issues
- Parenting issues (i.e. adjustment to parenthood; parent-child relationship issues);

Psychologist for Adults & Children
Currently working part-time within an NHS adult community psychology service, Dr Annelise Rodger has clients she works with that have experienced complex trauma and typically present with symptoms of PTSD; depression; suicidality; anxiety; and emotionally unstable personality disorder. I have worked within this service for the past 3 years.
She has experience of working with children and young people within mainstream / specialist educational settings in addition to working within a therapeutic children’s home.
She set up private practice 4 years ago and has worked therapeutically with children / young people / families and adults.
Personal Journey to Psychology
Annelise had always aspired to become a psychologist since adolescence. “I believe that being a psychologist is a very humbling profession as you journey side by side with your clients to try and help them improve their mental health and wellbeing.”
She has a keen interest in eco-psychology and is a strong advocate for the healing power of nature, and can offer walking and talking sessions.

Annelise offers face-to-face appointments at our Gosforth clinic (Newcastle Psychologist & Counselling at the Regent Centre).
