Insomnia, Nightmares and Sleep Problems Newcastle

Sleep Clinic in Newcastle

As many as one-third of people seen by their doctor may experience occasional difficulties with sleeping, and 10-40 percent of adults indicate some level of sleep trouble within any given year.   About 10-15 percent indicate that their insomnia is chronic or severe.

Whether your sleep problem is related to insomnia, nightmares or early waking caused by stress, anxiety, depression or poor sleep hygiene, Dr Stuart Sadler (Chartered Psychologist) at Newcastle Psychologist & Counselling, can help you to sleep better, increase energy and feel happier in day to day life.

Insomnia Therapy

Insomnia can be associated with a range of specific sleep disorders including nightmares, restless legs syndrome (RLS), periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD), sleep apnea, and circadian rhythm disorders.  Many of these problems can occur by themselves or in combination.

Factors such as chronic stress, hyper-arousal, poor sleep hygiene, and behavioural conditioning may contribute to trouble sleeping.  Other factors such as physical pain, depression, anxiety or other psychological factors can also contribute to your problems.

Dr Stuart Sadler (Chartered Psychologist) specialises in various approaches that can help improve sleep (including relaxation training, nightmare rescripting and specialist Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, or CBT-I) to help you overcome your sleep problems.

Nightmares and Trouble Falling Asleep
